(Objective and History)
Xuán-Pìn Taiji Health Guidance Association (aka Xuán-Pìn
Taiji Association) was established in January, 2004. The association was
founded by a group of passionate Chinese martial art specialists and
practitioners. Through various promotional activities and campaigns, the
Xuán-Pìn Taiji Association has been promoting traditional Chinese martial arts
and methods—including Taijiquan (Taiji boxing-fighting technique), Baduanjin Qigong ( Eight-Section
Brocade), Yijinjing (Muscle/Tendon Change Classic), Yigujing (Ease Bone Qigong
Exercise), Xisuijing (Marrow Wash Qigong) and Wu Qin Xi (Five Animals
Qigong Exercise), etc. During the
process of learning these techniques and methods, the association expects every
practitioner to build up positive and correct concepts about their heath and to
further improve their physical and psychological condition while elevating the
quality of their life on a daily basis.
people wonder why we named the association “Xuán-Pìn,” and what exactly does it mean? The term “Xuán-Pìn”
is derived from the sixth chapter of Chinese philosopher Laozi’s Dao De Jing
(Classic of the Way of Power, or Book of Moral):
The valley spirit dies not, aye the same;
The female mystery thus do we name.
Its gate, from which at first they issued forth,
Is called the root from which grew heaven and earth.
Long and unbroken does its power remain. (qtd. http://ctext.org)
phrase quoted above presents the idea of the completion of material forms.
Everything in the universe completes each other, yin completes yang, and
generates the generations to come.
On one hand we wish our campaign would last forever and continuously
succeeds just like yin and yang that interact with each other within Taiji. On
the another hand, we would like to inherit such spirits and concepts as our
propagandistic belief in the hope of guiding out the Taiji and microcosm within
everyone’s body and rejuvenating and extending everyone’s physical and
